Bulk Aqua Leaches

This method is typically used to analyse samples containing "coarse" gold particles. The large sample weight will help overcome the variability of other methods when samples contain coarse Gold. This technique is often referred to as "BLARG" which stands for Bulk Leach Aqua Regia Gold.

A one kilogram sample is digested in a mixture of Nitric and Hydrochloric acids at ambient temperature for 24 hours. An aliquot of the acid solution is then analysed by ICP-MS or ICP-OES.
